We are committed to quality and effective delivery of reliable inspection services to you.
Therefore, we pride ourselves in our experience, expertise and high-tech equipment in responding to your inspection, non-destructive testing, quality assurance, and quality control and certification needs. In addition, we provide procurement services through a wide supplier
network worldwide.
Visual Inspection
Our inspectors have adequate knowledge of components and weld quality. Their good vision also allows them to detect likely visible surface defects and to determine the condition of a component or a welded joint using simple viewing method.
Whether the inspection requires simple wiping or chemical cleaning prior to inspection or the need is to use computer camera systems to measure features of a component, high intensity lighting or magnification equipment, Allied Inspection Services have the expertise and the right tools.
Magnetic Particle Inspection
This is the defect detection method we use when inspecting ferromagnetic materials like iron, nickel, cobalt or product forms such as castings, forgings and weldment. When the ferromagnetic materials are magnetized to a comfortable level, the resultant magnetic fields and small magnetic particles such as iron filings help in detecting flaws in components under inspection and in determining the components fitness for use.
Liquid (Die)
Penetrant Inspection
Fatigue cracks, quench cracks, grinding cracks, overload and impact
fractures, even lack of fusion or braising along the edge of the
bond line, are some of the surface breakages we inspect and detect
on any non-porous or extremely rough material using this method. The
specimen to be tested is thoroughly cleaned and coated with a liquid
which drains into possible cracks. To make the crack visible, a
second liquid is applied as a developer with the aim of drawing the
Penetrant from the crack and making it visible. Depending on the
type of Penetrant used, the use of good fluorescent white light or ultraviolet light illumination may become necessary.
Radiographic Inspection
To detect sub-surface flaws in materials, x-rays from high voltage x-ray machines or gamma rays from radioactive isotopes e.g. iridium 192, is placed close to the material to be inspected, passed through the material, captured on film, processed and image obtained for analysis. While the choice of x-ray or gamma ray depends on the thickness of material for inspection, Allied Inspection Services is ever conscious of hazardous effects of both gamma rays and x-rays and therefore use them under controlled conditions and with special precautions.
Ultrasonic Inspection
This is an alternative inspection method to radiography in locating sub-surface defects in all industrial sectors. Sound waves of short wavelength and high frequency is used. When pulsed beams are passed through a probe to the specimen, any sound from the beam reflected to the probe [transducer] is shown on a screen which gives the amplitude of the pulse and the time taken to return to the probe. Thus, flaw size, distance and reflectivity can be interpreted. However, for some special applications and in production environment, automated systems are used for testing.
Thermographic Inspection
We use infrared video and still camera image analysis to detect coating defects such as blistering and sub-surface corrosion spots, or leakages in structures. To measure surface temperatures, variations in temperatures are determined by studying color changes ranging from white, for warm to black for, cooler areas.
Eddy Current Inspection
We use this method in crack detection especially in the marine industry. We induce eddy-current into a metal component to be tested and bring energized coil near to its surface. Flaws or material variations distorts the eddy-current in the specimen and an opposing magnetic field to the original magnetic field results at the same time altering the impedance in the coil. This change is indicative of the type of flaw or material change.
